Time for some tea & a chat, at long last! It's been awhile hasn't it? So much has been going on here that for several weeks my life seems as if it were a revolving door!
Come & gone.
Come & gone... (🎜🎝 Christ the Lord is risen today...🎜)
Come & gone...
😢
It all comes & goes so fast...
But then add to that, back & hip issues that has added a cane to my life, temporarily ( I call her Candy. 😉) It has also added extra time to all of the things I do, like it takes twice as long (or more!)
Then, doggie Schnitzel had a slipped disc which paralyzed his hindquarters.
This is just a silly sleeping pose. But having to carry him in & out for potty breaks, up & down stairs, from place to place puts a strain on all of our backs! We are in the process of acupuncture & chiropractic ( animal doctors) work done on him & he grows increasingly better every day, though his backside sways from side to side which looks rather drunken. Still, he's able to move around & he's such a good sport & so happy about life!
Then, a visit from daughter Angie, off to the aforementioned graduation at another daughter's family, then a visit from two grandson's & that brings us up to date!
Whew!! Quite a roller coaster ride over the last three months.
Fun, laughter & memorable times running parallel with crises, loss, pain & hardship.
& isn't that the way it goes, this 'doing life'?
Sometimes it causes us to lose our focus & we get tunnel vision.
Once again, time to put on those 'He A-rose-tinted glasses' that always gets our 'perk-o-laters' going & switches to reset mode. There will always be those interruptions in our plans, which as I have said, plans which often go awry.
synonyms for awry:
cockeyed, lopsided, haywire, wonky.
Wonky? Seriously, wonky is a word! I like it myself. I think it fits. "My life is really wonky right now."
I also like the word 'listing', like when a ship rolls slowly onto its side. Whether you are listing to port (left) or starboard (right), to me it denotes laying down, giving up, quitting. I have to admit, sometimes when my life is really wonky I want to just start listing with a blanket over my head & go off into the enchanted 'Land of Oblivion'. For a few days anyway. But alas, that never happens. Instead, I have to wrap my arms & legs around scriptures such as,
"Be not weary in well-doing, for in due season you shall reap if you do not faint." Galatians 6:9
"All things work together for good for those who love God..."
Romans 8:28
"In everything you do, do it heartily as unto the Lord..."
Colossians 3:23
"We are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them."
Ephesians 2:10
& no matter what our particular trial, loss or hardship is, we are always to
"Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works & glorify your Father in heaven."
Matthew 5:16
There are always those on the outside, so to speak, watching us, who truly want to believe that you are real in Jesus, that there is hope in this upside-down, tornadic world. & we must realize that all of the dust-devils that are stirred up against us, & I mean that literally, all of the interruptions, all of the wonkinesses that come our way always have purpose. Remember, God is the ultimate economist & NOTHING is ever wasted that He allows to come our way. & this is how we 'go into all of the world'. No, this verse is not talking about just geographically, but into wherever our sphere of influence is, our close to home world. We 'go into all the world', by letting our lights shine. To oust darkness & lay claim to our territory that the Lord has given us the authority to take. We need to lay siege against the enemies of truth, righteousness & justice, the enemies of the weak & helpless. When we do that, we are letting the Lord live His life through us, thus bringing healing, deliverance, salvation, hope & life into our "all the world." So, let's get on those wonky broncs! Get them off their listing cayuses! Shift your paradigm saddle & just see what the Lord will do! Not only will you stay on the proverbial 8 seconds, you'll stay on until the end of your earthly ride. Yahoo!! Go into all your world & preach the gospel! As the saying goes, sometimes you won't even have to use words. & another saying is, "Just do it!" Yes!!
Raintree Perk of the Day:
Jesus said, "I am the Way, the Truth, & the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."
John 14:6
