TGIT!! 

Winter has only begun in our neck of the woods, but I don't really mind when there are days like today, cold but no wind, & snow is softly & gently pirouetting in a downward spiral. Time to go out into this magical world. The dogs very vocally agree! It's the highlight of their day (next to chicken liver treats! 😵)

So, warmly clad in double portions, off we venture into the frigid, swirling, feathery snow weather. 

Schnitzel & Rosie with their noses to the ground, always on the 'hunt' as true to their breed. 

See the white Oliver in the tree? He likes to play cougar & thinks he is hidden, but he has to be rescued eventually because he can't jump down due to some joint issues. But it's fun while it lasts!

Even a tag-a-long turkey (or 'churkey' as my oldest grandson used to call them) follows, hoping for a cracked corn handout.

So beautiful...

But my fingers were starting to freeze, so it was nice to go back into the cozy warmth of the fire. 

& enjoy a cup of tea...

& my favorite Snowball cookies!

Ahhhh, these 'continuous small perks' that give respites to our, at times, crazy, busy lives. Every day has "something (or several somethings!) to be thankful for... 𝅘𝅥𝅱𝅘𝅥𝅱"

That's why we can say,

TGIT!!

Thank God (truly) It's Today.

Not just Friday or any other day of the week, but today.

A new year, a new January, a new today.

Isn't it exciting?? Brand-spankin, new!

All of those choices out there just waiting for us. Choices that can change our whole lives, so...choose wisely. Because in this today, remember, you are choosing your future too.

Ever since my seventieth birthday, (I am seventy-one now), I have felt more than ever the fleetingness of life & the importance of living my daily life on purpose, to make an eternal difference in this earth, for I am part of His kingdom coming by fulfilling my destiny that Jesus put in my heart to do when I was conceived.( How's that for purpose?!) But I also don't want to miss the daily perks, or in other words, "daily loadeth us with benefits" that the Lord sends me either. So often, we get bogged down in the mires of  "the cares of this world that entering in choke the word & it becomes unfruitful". This usually comes because we aren't living in Today. Years ago, I put music to these words that I sing almost everyday.

"I am a woman of sweet contentment.

I am a woman of joy, of joy!

I am a woman of thanksgiving,

I am a woman of praise!"

Nothing profound, but it changes my perception & focus, to Jesus, always. & then I am able to see my todays through 'He-Arose' tinted glasses. 

January 2023 is a good month, the beginning of a great year, for those of us who have chosen Jesus as "the way, the truth & the life." & He says He came to give us life abundantly!! so no matter what, Hallelujah we win! 

Sooooo...
