A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood
Wow! That is a favorite word these days, because, as promised, Spring has finally come to the Black Hills of South Dakota!
I know, I know, according to the calendar it's the first day of Summer. But the past several days, today included, it has been very pleasant, sunshiny, warm ( sixties to lower seventies), barely any wind, which is always good news, blue skies & my favorite cotton candy clouds.
Kind of looks like a fluffy Ewok from the back doesn't it?
I want a spoon right now! Mmmmm. Melt in your mouth!
A train of clouds.
⛅⛅⛅
But before we go a-sight-seeing, a hearty breakfast!
Everything natural, organic & homemade. (Well, the chickens did supply their contribution! 🐔)
It was as good as it looks! Now, I'm ready for the miniature 'peregrinate' of Spring!
Everything is blooming now, so many beautiful flowers.
Don't you love the variety of Petunias out there, sizes & colors?! I'd love to buy one of each! Of course pinks are my favorites!
See that vintage lawn mower from the fifties?
Pretty crafty isn't it? I bought it just because it reminds me of my little girl youth.
Sunflowers have a "Hail fellow well met" persona to me. How can anyone not love sunflowers! They are so HaPpY!! Notice the little guy in the middle? A busy bee. Glad I didn't stick my nose in there! 🌻
This is 'Miss Sadie'. I have had her for many years so she's one of the family. She's had many operations because of falls, & I usually do some touch ups every Spring because during the winter she gets rather pale from the lack of sun. 😀
This is the bird-feeder that I used during the winter. I decided to use it for a summer planter. Perfect.
I love daisies too, cheerful & free-spirited! A bouquet of daisies are guaranteed to bring a smile to anyone. The Daisy symbolizes innocence & purity, & just looking at them brings refreshing to my heart. To me the Daisy is the essence of youth. If possible, it should be bottled & used as an elixir for youthfulness.
The brighter green is new Spring growth. So rich...
New baby oak leaves, so shiny & pretty.
Look a little closer...
It looks like a burst of sparkly fireworks! I love it!
Everything is so intensely green that I almost have to wear sunglasses for the 'aliveness' of it all!
Horses grazing in a green field is one of my pure country pleasures. My perk-o-later is on overtime today!
One big wooly bully! "Huh?"
Having all your ducks, (in this case, geese) in a row.
"Gone fishin'...."
"When you come to the end of a perfect day...🎵"
I had this firepit custom made. This is one of my life scriptures, Matthew 5:16.

As we come to the end of our Spring & into the first of our Summer, let's rejoice! The Lord has made everything new & young once again, summer & winter, springtime & harvest, each season following His order, old things are passed away, all things become new. Let it be so in our lives too, in our hearts. Let the dead bury the dead & let Jesus rekindle, restore, rejuvenate, refresh, revive, redeem, an annual makeover so to speak. Let's take a deep breath (inhale) of the 'carbon dioxide' of His life. Carbon dioxide works to give us fresh & clean oxygen for healthy bodies. Also, it is used in carbonated drinks to add effervescence. We can be bubbly, sparkly, effervescent Christians. Yes! Now, exhale that bad, stale, dead 'carbon monoxide' breath which displaces oxygen in the blood, & deprives the heart, brain & other vital organs of oxygen. Large amounts of it can cause you to lose consciousness & suffocate. Now, just meditate on that for a minute, only in the spiritual sense. Jesus is our oxygen tank, our 'breath of life'. As we come into this season of Summer, let's embrace His Life so we can really embrace life! Then, every day will be a 'beautiful day in the neighborhood'!!
Raintree perk of the day:
"To everything there is a season..." Ecclesiastes 3:1
"...trust in the Living God who gives us all things richly to enjoy."
1 Timothy 6:17
